The employer who is intending to employ a minor under the age of 16 must complete the Employers' Request for Child Labor This document requires the free Adobe Acrobat Reader available by clicking on this icon.. The form is then submitted by the minor to his/her school and the school will issue the "Youth Employment Certificate". The employer must obtain the Youth Employment Certificate within 3 business days of the first day of work and must keep it on file at the work place. (RSA 276-A:5)

The employer who is intending to employ a minor 16 or 17 years old must obtain written parental permission for the 16th and 17th year of the minor to work at the business. (RSA 276-A:4 VIII)

Employers, parents and minors needing to know NH requirements and limitations regarding Youth Employment may review the statute and the Administrative rules.

Under the provisions of the minimum wage law, students may be placed at a work place at a sub-minimum rate or at no rate of pay when working for practical experience.
